Privacy Policy
The short version: OMR sheets you design, photos and scans you check, answer keys and student results never leave your device. We don't collect, upload or store them. Like most free websites, we show ads from Google, which may use cookies. This policy explains the details.
This Privacy Policy describes how ToolAdda ("we", "us" or "our") handles information when you visit https://omrsheet.tooladda.online (the "Website") and use the OMR sheet generator and OMR checker (the "Services"). The Website is a subdomain of tooladda.online; other parts of ToolAdda may have their own policies. By using the Website you agree to the practices described here.
1. Sheets, photos, answer keys and results
Both Services run entirely inside your web browser:
- Sheet designs, logos and PDF files are created locally on your device.
- Photos, scans and PDFs you add to the checker are analysed locally and are never uploaded to our servers or to any third party.
- Student information visible on sheets, such as names, roll numbers and answers, is never sent to us. We have no access to it.
- If you use the camera, the video is processed on your device only. Nothing is recorded or transmitted, and the camera turns off when you close the camera window.
- If you install the Website as an app and share photos to it from another app, the photos are passed to the checker through your device's local storage and deleted immediately after they are opened.
Your responsibility for student data: if you check sheets that belong to other people, such as students, you are responsible for handling their personal data lawfully, including obtaining any consent required by your school, institution or local law, and for keeping exported results secure.
2. Information stored on your device
To make the Services convenient, some information is saved in your browser's local storage on your own device:
- your latest sheet design and uploaded logo;
- answer keys and marking schemes, so you don't have to enter them again;
- your theme preference.
Checked sheet images and results are not stored; they are cleared when you close or reload the checker. You can delete stored data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this Website.
3. Information collected automatically
We don't ask you to create an account, and the Services don't collect your name, email address or other personal details. Some information is, however, processed automatically when you visit the Website:
Hosting provider
The Website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service provided by GitHub, Inc. When you visit, GitHub may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the Website and keep it secure. This processing is governed by the GitHub General Privacy Statement. We don't have access to identifiable visitor logs from GitHub.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Website, for example which pages are popular and which devices are used. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and referring website. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. We never send sheet contents, photos or results to Google Analytics. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Advertising
Advertising partners may automatically collect information about your visit, as described in the next section.
4. Advertising and Google AdSense
To keep the Services free, the Website displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. In connection with these ads:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Website and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or, in the EU, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised based on your browsing history.
- Other third-party vendors or ad networks certified by Google may also serve ads on the Website. A list is available in Google's Ad Tech Providers list.

Managing your choices
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: we use Google Consent Mode, so advertising and analytics cookies are disabled by default for you. They are only used if you accept them in the consent message, which is provided through Google's certified consent management platform. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the privacy or cookie settings link that appears on the Website.
Everyone can also control cookies through their browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies won't affect the Services.
6. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
- Consent for personalised advertising cookies and analytics cookies where required by law.
- Legitimate interests for delivering the Website securely, preventing abuse and showing non-personalised ads.
- Performance of a request when you contact us and we reply to you.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023): you may request information about, correction of, or erasure of any personal data we hold about you, such as emails you have sent us.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell your personal information for money. Advertising cookies may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can opt out through Google Ads Settings or by enabling the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser.

8. When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it only to respond and keep it only as long as needed. Please don't send us students' personal data or photos of their sheets unless you are permitted to.
9. Children's privacy
The Website is intended for teachers, institutions and general audiences. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Students' information on answer sheets is processed only on the device of the person checking the sheets and is not collected by us.
10. Security and retention
The Website is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Because sheets and results are processed on your device, they are not exposed to server breaches on our side. We keep no personal data of visitors, except emails you send us.
11. International data transfers
Our hosting and advertising providers may process technical data in countries other than your own, including the United States, using appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where applicable.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised.
