# About ToolAdda OMR

## Why we built it

Multiple-choice tests are everywhere: school unit tests, coaching institute mock exams, entrance exam practice, quizzes and surveys. Checking them by hand takes hours, and traditional OMR systems need special scanners, pre-printed paper and paid software that most schools and small institutes can't justify.

ToolAdda OMR makes the whole process free and simple. You design a sheet in the browser, print it on ordinary paper, and check the filled sheets with the phone already in your pocket.

## What you can do

- **Create OMR sheets** with 1 to 600 questions in up to 30 sections, 2 to 10 options, true/false questions and numerical answer grids.
- **Add candidate details**: roll number and centre code bubble grids, booklet set codes, name, class, subject, date and signature boxes.
- **Brand your sheets** with your institute name, logo and exam title, in English, Hindi or both.
- **Print crisp vector PDFs** on A4, US Letter or US Legal paper, with numbered copies and answer-key pages.
- **Check sheets automatically** from photos, scans or PDFs, with negative marking, answer keys per set and CSV export.

## How it works

Every sheet has four black squares in its corners and a small QR code. When you photograph a filled sheet, the checker finds the squares, corrects the angle and perspective of the photo, reads the QR code to learn the layout, and then measures how dark each bubble is. The whole process runs inside your web browser using your device's own processing power.

## Our principles

### Private by design

Answer sheets contain students' names and roll numbers. That's why nothing you create or check is uploaded: sheets, photos, answer keys and results stay on your device. Read the [Privacy Policy](https://omrsheet.tooladda.online/privacy-policy/) for details.

### Free for everyone

There are no paid plans, limits or watermarks. The site is supported by advertising shown around the tools, never on your sheets.

### Accurate and transparent

The checker shows exactly which bubbles it detected on each sheet and lets you correct any reading. Sheets with multiple marks or unreadable details are flagged for review.

### Accessible and fast

The site follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, works with a keyboard and screen readers, supports dark mode and keeps working offline after your first visit.
